We see you dance moms. Trying to do all the things. Doing your very best to give your child all of the incredible opportunities available to them. Striving to help them excel and feel successful as a dancer.

It's new era of dance. There are clinics and conventions galore and that is on top of the endless class opportunities at your studio home. So, you struggle trying to get them into everything. Everywhere. Fill their schedule so they can keep up with the dancer next to them, or better yet, outshine them. The best costumes. The maximum number of solos. The extra ballet classes. Every opportunity for performances. Private training. More classes. More time. More. More. More.

Woah. Take a breath. It's no wonder families end up feeling run down and tired before they even make it through September. Just remember this important concept in a world that will tell you the opposite...more isn't always better.

Sometimes family time is better. Sometimes time to be a kid and spend time with friends with better. Sometimes cutting back on quantity and focusing on quality is better. Before you sign up for that "extra" class at the studio or the fifth intensive/clinic-take a moment to evaluate what it truly adds to your dancer's journey. Is it worth what it is replacing? Could it possibly lead to burnout, both for you and your dancer? Is there a more efficient and less time-consuming way to achieve the desired outcome?

Learn to let go of the nagging FOMO if you don't sign up for everything offered, and then teach that concept to your child. Teach them the delicate art of balance in their lives so that they are comfortable in that way of life as an adult.

So, in closing, we sure do love you dance moms. No one loves quite like a dance mom. This is your little reminder to not let the world overtake what you know is right for your child in your heart. Your child can be a success in dance without an overwhelming schedule. They can work towards amazing careers in dance that will be fulfilling and bring them joy and won't be the only think that defines them. With your loving guidance dance can be something that builds them up and doesn't burn them out. You've got this dance moms<3

Stay Tutu Strong,
